In addition to this blog and my portfolio site I have created a tumblr blog called "PHOneTOS" as an outlet for the photos I take with my iPhone. Of coarse I prefer to create with hi end cameras and in controlled situations but I am constantly looking and seeing as I walk through life and I capture a ton of cool things with my phone simply because I can. It's always with me and being a photodork I always want to be shooting. The camera-phone is a perfect tool for that. Until now the shots have been simply stored in my phone and are rarely seen by anybody but me (once in a while my wife and daughter get the phone shoved in there face with a "hey check this out) but I want to share with as many people that are interested.
So please go and check out "PHOneTOS"

Getting shit done!
I was up for a sunrise portrait at the beach this morning. The alarm went off at 4:30am. I gathered my gear and waited for my buddy Matt to roll up. And we were off to the beach to catch the sunrise. This wasn't a job but a personal project. I am working on creating 100 new portraits over the next few months. And having good friends like Matt that get up super early on a Saturday to go wear a wetsuit at the beach when it's 29ยบ F certainly helps out!
And then I figured why stop there. Let's get some shit done. So after an really good nap I met up with another friend, Phil, to capture his portrait too. I nailed two great portraits at two different locations today that I am totally stoked on.
Matt and Phil are #9 and #10 out of 100 of my portrait project and I can't wait to see how the next 90 go!
You can see the portrait of Matt over at another personal project I have been working on with Henry Hung, Kyle Holmquist, and Christopher Flanegan:

Here's a fun iPhone snap to share some of the stoke!

Wednesday: Hipstamatic/iPhone Holga
Ahhh, the hipstamatic! Still so much fun! I actually printed a few images last week of the sixth grade students I spoke with. I sent them each a print of themselves to go with their show. I have to say the prints look really cool. Enjoy!

We have been having a lot of babies in the studio recently and I couldn't help myself to bust out the digi holga and capture their little faces. Enjoy!

Monday: Marketing Update

Here are a few iPhone quickshots of the prints for my book.
PORTFOLIO:
Yesterday I spent most of the day printing the pages of my new portfolio. I have more prints to make. Then comes the trimming, scoring, and hole punching required to assemble the book. It was cool to print yesterday. It seems a lot of the time with digital I only print when a print is needed. Most images are sent over the internet to clients, burned to a disc, or moved to another hard drive. The photos really came alive to me yesterday when I saw them printed really well and at a descent size. I'm still flying high from it!
SOCIAL NETWORKING:
I joined Facebook finally. I had been holding out thinking it was a time waster. Now I am of the thought that connections and relationships are very important however we have them. It's pretty amazing how within twenty four hours I became connected to over 100 people. My name was seen by over 100 people. My web hits went way up, so people were looking at my work. Yeah I'm sure some were friends and family but I'm also sure that some were folks that hire or know people that hire photographers. It's win win. So if you are here and we are cool guy friends on the Facebook please look me up and send a request.

iPhone/Digi Holga

I recently got an app that in my opinion is the closest thing to the results I can get with my holga. I used to carry the holga everywhere as I now do my phone and I'm psyched to be able to get the results I'm getting with the Hipstamatic iPhone app.

East Coast Surf + Being a Photographer

This was last Saturday up in Hampton, NH. I went along with my buddy Matt with the intentions of getting in the water and surfing too. When we got there I broke out my camera and started shooting. I was shooting for me and having a blast doing it. Being a photographer, doing photographer things, having photographs. Awesome!
